
Sir Leo Schultz, OBE
Councillor and leader of Kingston upon Hull council for 32 years. He succeeded in saving many lives by building bomb shelters before the WWII German blitz on Hull, the second most bombed city in the UK. Sir Leo was also instrumental in overturning Poor Laws. The commemorative statue in the niche on the Guildhall was unveiled by the Lord Mayor on 9th May 2011.
